Identities make current state of ourselves. We didn't choose our fate like gender, race and nationalities. I think Fatalism, Predestination, and Determinism, all of similar terms are related to religion more specifically Christian. If you are Christian probably you heard that god leads your life and future which means our fate is de[pends on God's decision. My religion is Christian so I believe that God makes our decisions even though we make everyday decision. so I believe if we live honestly and correctly our fate must get better by god make our route.
Although I do not follow a particular faith, I agree with your statement on if you believe in a certain God, it is that God that controls your fate.
